SEMI-CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATIONS

The Collections Suites have been thoughtfully curated and designed for couples who desire personal touches and beautiful details for their wedding stationery without the investment of fully custom design. The best part? The color palette and all of the details are unique to you for a custom experience, but we use one of the six Collections Suites designs as a starting point!

THE SEMI-CUSTOM EXPERIENCE

Many more details to come when we work together of course, but this overview is a good introduction to the process!

i. request a quote

Every couple has unique needs and preferences for their invitation suite, so every proposal is created specifically for you, rather than having set packages - the beauty of working one on one with a stationer! To get started, take a look through the semi-custom suites and request a quote by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

ii. review your proposal

Once you have filled out the quote request form, I will send over your proposal via email within a few days. This proposal will cover pricing for your semi-custom invitation suite and embellishments that you are interested in within your budget. Once your proposal looks good to go, you can sign the contract and submit your deposit so we can get started!

iii. design and revisions

This is the fun part! Once I have all of your wedding details I will begin designing your suite, with a color palette unique to your wedding. We will go through several revision rounds to get everything just right, and will have so much fun with envelope colors, wax seal choices, and stamps along the way!

iv. production, assembly, and delivery

After every detail is covered and you sign off on your designs, I will begin the production process. The design process takes around 3 weeks for semi-custom designs, and the printing and assembly process is another 2-4 weeks. Seeing everything come off of the computer screen and into real life is truly a delightful experience! I will provide stamp options and fully assemble so your invitations arrive ready for you to drop in the mail, along with photographer and keepsake copies.

+ What all can be customized for my wedding?

The color palette, wording, paper type (cardstock or handmade), printing method (digital, letterpress, or foil), envelope liner design, wax seal design and color, ribbon, twine, vellum wraps, and venue illustration (if applicable). Essentially the design of the suite is set (fonts and general layout), but so many elements will be customized for your wedding!

+ What is the difference between custom and semi-custom?

At this time, only custom clients have the option to add on calligraphy addressing (I work with a wonderful calligrapher!), embossing, die-cut cards (aka custom shapes), handmade envelopes, and custom handmade paper colors. And of course for custom we start from scratch with fonts and the design layout!

+ What is letterpress printing?

Letterpress leaves the most beautiful impression on the paper - a plate is designed and the ink is actually pressed into the paper creating a luxurious look and feel. Letterpress can be done on either cardstock or handmade paper.

+ Can digital print be done on handmade paper?

No, at this time I only offer my clients the option of letterpress or foil on handmade paper. This is because digital printing on handmade is only very slightly less expensive than letterpress, so if splurging for handmade paper, letterpress or foil makes the most sense!

+ Will you create a color palette for me?

Absolutely! Based on your wedding vision and the design board provided by your planner (if you have one) I will put together a custom color palette and wedding invitation design concept for you.

+ Can I add on other embellishments?

Of course! We can include silk or velvet ribbon, vintage stamps, twine, wax seals, vellum wraps (plain or printed), and more! If you are interested in these items or have something specific in mind, please make a note on your quote request form.

+ Will you help with invitation wording?

Yes, I am here to help with all items stationery related, which includes your wording. If you have questions about how to word any element of your invitations I am happy to provide suggestions and guidance.

+ What is the investment for a suite from the semi-custom collection?

This will vary based on your quantity, printing methods, paper types, and any embellishments we add to make your suite truly unique and special. On average, Ivy and Linen Design Co. semi-custom clients invest $3,000 to $5,000 for 100 invitation suites.
