Creative@Heart Round 9

Last week I had the opportunity to be a part of something that is truly hard to describe, but it was the most amazing experience: I attended Creative@Heart Round 9 in Bermuda Run, NC with so many talented creatives. I had heard amazing things about this conference, and after following all of the Round 8 adventures last year I knew this was something I definitely needed to attend and thankfully had the opportunity to do so for Round 9.

The Role of Dubsado in My Business

The Role of Dubsado in My Business

When first starting out, I knew I wanted to craft an experience that would be simple and efficient for my clients - nothing about the process should be a burden to them and it should be fun! Because of that I knew I would need some sort of system that helped me make this happen and thankfully was told about Dubsado!

How to Prepare for Two Weeks Away

We leave for Europe in 6 days which seems so crazy because we have been talking about this trip for at least a year and a half, and it is now happening! I am so excited to be able to take this 16 day trip, but that also means I will be away from Ivy + Linen Design Co. for 16 days. So, lots of planning went into making sure my business can run without me and that I am still "showing up" while we are driving the coastline of Ireland, hiking the mountains of Switzerland, and enjoying all of the food and wine Italy has to offer.

Ivy + Linen Design Co. pop-up market booth at Girl Tribe Charlotte April 27 and 28, 2019

Girl Tribe Charlotte 4/27 + 28

A couple of weeks ago I was a vendor at Girl Tribe in Charlotte and it. was. awesome. Two of my best friends, Sarah and Jackie, helped me do all the things that weekend from setup all the way to take down. It was a whirlwind of a weekend and our feet and backs were very tired - hello standing for hours and hours without chairs - but it was all worth it!

Behind the Scenes

I couldn't decide whether to name this post "Behind the Scenes" or "A Day in the Life" because it is kind of both wrapped into one. I eventually settled on Behind the Scenes, but either way it is a glimpse into what days as a stationery designer look like for me now! I am a very routine person, so since I've started working for myself and from home, I get asked a lot about what my days look like and if I have a set routine.

New Website for Ivy + Linen Design Co. - switch from Showit to Shopify

Why a New Website? It's only been 6 months!

A few weeks ago I launched a brand new website on the 6 month anniversary of Ivy + Linen Design Co., which seems quite fast! Even though I launched the initial website not that long ago, I was already discovering ways it was not working for me and knew that if I wanted to incorporate more semi-custom offerings something was going to have to improve.

New Semi-Custom Save the Date, Wedding Invitations, Birth Announcements, and New Home Announcements by Ivy + Linen Design Co.

New Semi-Custom Collection

The new website launched yesterday and I hope you love it! I had such a great time putting it together (although I did lose some sleep over it a few nights), but I was so excited I just wanted to get it done and out into the world! That's a blog post for another day though, because today I'm introducing some of the new semi-custom product lines that launched with the website.

Supporting Small Businesses Without Spending Money - photo of Ivy + Linen Design Co. desk taken by Kelsey Nelson Photography

Supporting Small Businesses Without Spending Money

Starting a small business takes a lot of hard work, time, and confidence, just to name a few. Then to keep it going, it requires more hard work, time, confidence, AND customers/clients! A couple of months ago I saw an Instagram post about supporting small businesses without spending any money and I loved the concept.

From CPA to Creative Entreprenuer

Over the last several months as I have ventured into creative entrepreneurship, I've found people asking "Why? What? How?" and each time I've gotten better at explaining how Ivy + Linen came to be. But I also know there are a lot more people that have those same questions, so I'm sharing a little bit about my journey into entrepreneurship, in the hopes that it inspires and motivates you!
